loved and was loved she didn’t ever lose those 20 pounds but she loved and was loved she was never published nor on Oprah but she knew how to love and was loved. she never traveled through Africa from top to bottom nor got her motorbike license. but she loved and was loved. she never learned to play the guitar nor balance her check book but she loved and was loved. she never eloped with her high school sweet heart nor breast fed her own baby but she loved and was loved. she never owned a house of her own nor reversed the aging process nor found a cure for Aids nor saved her dieing friend nor donated millions to aid world famine nor taught underprivileged children to read nor sacrificed her creature comforts to serve the orphans in Calcutta nor cleaned oil slick off the damaged penguins nor went to save Angola nor won an Olympic medal nor the Miss Universe pageant nor remembered birthday’s nor called her grannies often enough but she loved and was loved that was enough Tamsin Rothschild © 2008 |
